Biography of Joyce Beckford

Born in Salt Springs on the West Coast of the Island of Jamaica, Joyce Beckford is the third of eight children. Her dad, Pastor Harold Beckford was an Apostle who planted churches for the Church of God (C.O.G) in Jamaica; he was also the Senior Pastor of the Salt Springs Church of God.

Service to the Lord has always been a priority for Joyce and she has always wanted to serve in a way that changes lives in some positive way. Joyce worked for the Department of Agriculture in Jamaica and then moved to the United States in the '80's. Joyce joined her current home church in Central Florida called City of Life when there were just a few members. City of Life is now a thriving community beacon of Christ that boasts a membership of over 5,000 families.

Joyce honored her Apostolic call by leaving Corporate America to pursue ministry full time in 2004. Joyce now travels the country speaking at women's conferences and workshops on topics such as prayer, fasting and balanced living. Although she has no biological children of her own, Joyce mentors hundreds of children and young women throughout the country and in her City of Life church community.

Joyce received her undergraduate degree from Faith Christian University. She is also a certified Christian Counselor. Today "Ms. Joyce" as she is affectionately called considers Praying Heart to Heart with God as a spring board into the next season of her life that she calls her "long awaited summer."
