Biography of Venoris Patten

Venoris Patten is a unique person who embraces the circumstances of her life, endeavoring to see the true purpose of each occurrence. She has come into this awareness over a period of time as she reflected on the journey of her entire life and started questioning the purpose of certain events. She is the fourth of ten siblings and grew up in a traditional home with mom, dad and siblings. She is the proud mother of two sons and five grandchildren. Venoris earned her nursing diploma at the University of the West Indies Jamaica, West Indies and later achieved her Bachelors and Masters degrees in Health Services Administration at Florida International University, Miami Florida.

Venoris is passionate about encouraging others and works diligently within the Church and lately the neighboring community to give support to others. She believes strongly in one encouraging the other. Over the past year she has started volunteering with America Cancer Society and most recently with Esther's Outreach Ministry, an organization that offers spiritual, emotional and nutritional support to the local community. Her Book, "Nuggets Along the Way" is her latest accomplishment. Not only is it a literary legacy for her family and especially her children and grandchildren, but it is also her way of sharing her life to a wider audience. She hopes to encourage all to seek purpose because she believes that living a purpose filled life is the key to real freedom and fulfillment. Proceeds from her book will go towards Outreach to Battered Women and Abused Girls.
